This family cottage is a compact shingle style house with five bedrooms, a bunkroom, and 4½ baths. A stone terrace joins the dining room, living room and sun room with the outside space. Three family members residing in three different states, who spent their summers growing up in this area, own the family cottage. For them, it only made sense to build a cottage of their own to continue the family traditions with their own children and future grandchildren. The cottage sits on the uphill side of the ocean road as though it has always been there, providing fabulous vistas of the ocean from three sides. Outside views and socializing were the two priorities in the cottage design, giving way to open areas and spacious windows even on the back side of the cottage. Photos by Jamie Solomon.
