Built on the mainland, this custom millwork traveled by boat to its island home.

Wright-Ryan’s millwork shop produced all of the built-in window seats and custom bookcases in this island vacation home—perfect spots to rest and read while listening to the surf. The window seats showcase paneled wood that is painted white. Storage cubbies in the window seats make the most of treasured space, outfitting the mudroom with nooks for baskets, beach towels and sandals.

The kitchen was crafted in the Wright-Ryan millwork shop, too. From the custom cabinets to the built-in fridge, the details epitomize Maine cottage design. The custom kitchen island continues the white wood paneling, topped with a striking green granite counter-top. An open cupboard shows off colorful pottery.
